About
The Wagga Wagga Civic Theatre is located in the cultural precinct in the heart of the city on the banks of the Wollundry Lagoon. Built in 1963 it has had an auditorium and foyers up-grade in the year 2000. The downstairs foyer has the booking office that services most local events, the upstairs foyer has a theatre bar including a balcony with the most gorgeous view over the Wollundry Lagoon.
The auditorium is raked and seats 488. Disabled access is by a lift and a ramp and there is a choice of wheelchair seating in 3 different areas of the theatre. There is a hearing loop throughout.
The stage has a proscenium arch, is fitted with an orchestra pit and is equipped to suit most technical requirements. Companies can unload sets via a large loading dock that can accommodate up to semi trailer size straight on to stage level. The in-house technician is available for advice and support to any organisation using the theatre.
