About
The Capital - Bendigo's Performing Arts Centre comprises 3 heritage buildings in the arts precinct of Bendigo. The complex is a hive of activity for performing arts, corporate functions, weddings, meetings, community arts activities, classes and workshops, as well as visual arts exhibitions.
The newly refurbished main auditorium, The Capital Theatre, holds 485 seats.
There are two large beautiful rooms: the Banquet Room, mainly used for weddings and corporate functions; and the Bendigo Bank Room, which can also be used for performances for up to 150 patrons. This is a lovely room with wonderful acoustics for chamber music, cabaret or small drama productions.
Two buildings next door are also part of the complex: the Old Fire Station, which is suitable for alternative performances and community activities with a dance studio upstairs; and Dudley House, mainly used for visual arts exhibitions.
The Capital is proudly owned and operated by the City of Greater Bendigo.
