Laycock Street Theatre (formally Laycock Street Bicentennial Community Theatre) opened in 1988. Built in response to a perceived need from various community groups, the theatre has a history that is founded on community service but continues to grow and develop an eclectic tableau of the performing arts. Laycock Street Theatre is unique on the Central Coast as it is the largest tiered seating venue available. Because of this, it is a sought after venue for many different activities including schools programs, dance groups, orchestral groups, touring and locally produced plays, rock concerts, comedies and musicals.
The theatre comprises a well equipped 396 seat proscenium arch theatre and a small Conference room catering for up to 100 people suitable for small plays and cabaret
style performance.

Laycock Street Theatre has an exciting annual program, including an extensive Subscription Season and is host to Gosford Musical Society, Central Coast Symphony Orchestra, Gosford City Brass Band, CC Concert Band, CC Eisteddfod, Dance Festival, Central Dance Company, Youth in Performing Arts, Post School Options and many
more groups.
