The Hopgood Theatre

Hopgood Theatre is a fully equipped and air-conditioned 492 seat proscenium arch theatre. Excellent acoustic qualities, the steep raked auditorium and modern equipment provide ideal conditions for all forms of presentation for plays, opera, ballet, musicals and concerts. It is also an excellent venue for conferences, seminars and public meetings.

The stage has a 29 line counterweight system in the full height fly tower and an adjustable orchestra pit. A complete set of black legs, borders and two sets of black tabs with a full cyclorama and film screen make this a viable venue for all theatrical productions. Theatre equipment features the latest computer operated lighting system, the latest chip technology in stage management equipment and the latest in sound equipment. Full backstage facilities are provide including rehearsal room, dressing rooms, scenery store, and a green room. The green room and practice room are suitable to hire for up to 50 people for meetings, rehearsals etc.

The large and spacious two storey foyer features a sprung floor performance area that is designed to be used for informal theatre in the round, experimental presentations, or as a gallery or exhibiting venue. The Noarlunga Centre Amphitheatre, set next to the Noarlunga Theatres provides an open air venue where performances can be presented. Noarlunga Theatres are situated in Ramsay Place, a pleasant and safe modern town square, surrounded by Colonnades Shopping Centre, The Tavern, City Council and Noarlunga House.
