About

Queensland University of Technology (QUT) Gardens Theatre is an intimate and versatile auditorium for QUT Creative Industries' productions, in addition to work presented by a wide range of visiting Australian and international companies.

Complemented by the surrounds of the City Botanic Gardens, it is one of a few theatre complexes operating in the heart of Brisbane City.

Formerly known as the Basil Jones Theatre, the original auditorium and front of house underwent extensive renovations with assistance from the Queensland Government. Opened by the Hon. Peter Beattie MP, Premier of Queensland in September 1999, the 400-seat theatre provides audiences with maximum comfort and enjoyment while retaining a unique charm and intimacy.
