Darebin Arts and Entertainment Centre

Darebin Arts & Entertainment Centre comprises a proscenium arch theatre (seating capacity of 395 seats), foyer, exhibition space and five multipurpose function rooms providing a combined capacity of 1,500.

Since opening in 1994 the Centre has established a strong following for community based performing arts, functions and events together with some commercial activity in the form of meetings, conferences and trade expos. The Centre currently plays host to 626 events attended by 110,000 people annually.

DAEC is fully owned and operated by the City of Darebin with a catchment population of 167,000. 96% of the funding is provided by the Darebin City Council with the remaining 4% provided by the Victorian State Government.
The Centre is open for bookings 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

A major redevelopment project for the DAEC Precinct commenced in October 2011.
