Civic Precinct Theatre

Civic Precinct Newcastle offers a choice of unique flexible venues conveniently located within the heart of the city that allows for excellent combined use of all facilities for major events and conferences. With the commissioning of the Playhouse in February 2005 Newcastle and the Hunter will have a performing arts centre capability. This includes:

• Civic Theatre at 1,520 seats our mainstage theatre that can deliver full production service for all touring and commercial performing arts product
• City Hall concert hall at 800 seats our recital and music venue
• Civic Playhouse at 212 seats will be our intimate drama and experimental theatre space
• Wheeler Place is our outdoor plaza or forecourt for presenting large scale physical theatre, musical, celebratory and festival performances.
