Adelaide Festival Centre

The Adelaide Festival Centre is South Australia’s major performing arts organisation. It was the first multi-purpose arts centre built in Australia and more than 30 years later still maintains its status as an arts icon.

Employing up to 300 people, it runs a range of businesses including the internationally regarded Set Construction Workshops and BASS, South Australia’s major entertainment ticketing agency.

Through the provision of first-class infrastructure, a contemporary image and innovative programming, the Centre has placed itself as the heart of the arts.

The Adelaide Festival Centre has four theatre venues:

• The Festival Theatre, both a lyric theatre and concert hall; 
• The Dunstan Playhouse;
• The Space – a versatile studio theatre offering total flexibility in stage and seating set-up; and 
• The Amphitheatre – an outdoor venue overlooking Elder Park and the River Torrens.

The Centre also includes a gallery/performance space called the Artspace, and catering and convention facilities.

Her Majesty’s Theatre, a heritage-listed building in the centre of the city, is also managed by the Centre.
