Producer Awards
NOMINATIONS FOR THE 2009 DROVER AWARDS FOR PRODUCERS ARE NOW CLOSEDThe APACA Drover Awards were instigated in 2003 to recognise excellence in performing arts touring. The purpose of the awards is to:
- Acknowledge the skill and expertise required for touring
- Promote the importance of touring for APACA members
- Encourage excellence
- Reward and show our appreciation for the excellence, hard work and dedication demonstrated by touring companies
Drovers Awards for touring productions are made in the following categories.
- Touring Design
- Outstanding Touring Production Crew
- Excellent Audience Response
- Tour of the Year
In addition, each year a Touring Legend is awarded. This can be a person or company.

Eligibility
Productions are eligible for award nomination if the tour:
- Is completed during the period July to June of the relevant financial year and;
- Includes at least five APACA members
Any of the following tours are eligible:
- Tours funded by Playing Australia
- Tours funded by State Ministries
- Tours that are not funded
Nominations for Touring Legend are accepted from any APACA member for an individual or organisation that has made an outstanding contribution to performing arts touring in Australia. Previous winners include Jacki Weaver, Christine Dunstan, Patch Theatre Company, Garry Ginivan and Wendy Blacklock.
