Pakachi is a grassroots hip hop artist and producer in Rwanda. He chose to become an artist to express the hardship people of Rwanda face and to encourage people to live together peacefully in light of the horrific Rwandan genocide which saw one million people killed in just three months. He wrote his first song when he was 15-years old. It was about the power of the microphone.

Adams Bisangwa, a Tutsi survivor, was a target in the 1994 genocide. His parents were killed as were his entire extended family. He and his three younger siblings survived. When he discovered his parents had been killed, he joined the army. He was 15-years-old.

Pakachi and Adams recently collaborated with the Indigenous Peoples of Rwanda, the Twa, and helped produce a song that fuses traditional Twa music with hip hop.
